Unable to find ssh addon on the addon marketplace

Open paniash opened this issue 6 months ago • 1 comments

Hi,

I noticed there to be some discrepancy in the addon between versions of VS code (or maybe just between my office PC and personal computer).

On my office PC, VScode version 1.95.3 is running and the addon works as expected. However, with my personal laptop running version 1.100.3, I don't see the addon at all in the vscode marketplace.

I'm unclear as to why this is so different between both my computers. I'd really appreciate any help on this. Thanks.

You're searching 'remote - ssh' in 1.100.3 and don't see the extension?

Yes, that's right.

Here's the screenshot of my issue:

The results you see are from another marketplace. How did you build / install VS Code?

Maybe I should've mentioned it. I'm on Arch linux and installed it from the standard package repository.

I guess I've figured out what the issue is. The standard package is not the Microsoft-branded release which is why I couldn't see the extension in the marketplace. I'll check it again with the MS-branded release and see if I have the same issue.

Seems to work now! Thanks.
