What is crashing? Is the entire VS Code editor closing/hanging on you, or is the dev container environment failing to create/re-open? Could you please append your dev container logs so we can better understand the issue?
Hi Josh
I have a theory on what is going on. I had STEP-CA SSH installed on my laptop, that includes a ‘catch all’ directive. I think the VSCode SSH connection struggles with this setup. Now I have put that in comments and it seems to work again without interruption.
Does this makes any sense ?

Glad to hear you've solved your issue. I recommend always confirming you can "directly" SSH from your terminal first, as it's easier to catch issues. This extension will inherit your SSH configuration, as you've seen
