Context filling up quickly

Open aneeshnw opened this issue 1 month ago • 1 comments

Type: Bug

I add 4 docs and wanted to update one doc based on inputs form two others. The context keeps getting full and it keeps summarizing the conversation in a loop. When using Claude Sonnet 4.5 directly this amount of data can be easily injested without running out of context. Also the Copilot agent is not being intelligent at all, its mindlessly going into a loop of summarizing and trying to read the same lines again.

I also have the same problem. Raised a issue here: https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/276328

It looks like you are using a Copilot Chat version which is more than 6 months old. We made significant improvements in the meantime. We recommend that you update the Copilot Chat extension to the newest version (0.33.5). Feel free to create new issues if you still run into problems
