Creating new Project hangs

Installed the extension as well as pre-reqs. Mostly been following the Microsoft tutorial. Upon selecting "Create basic project" the files are generated (node_modules doesn't exist though, perhaps it's taking forever to download packages?), but then it just hangs (image below). I let it sit for over 30 minutes and nothing changed. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong here, or if there's some other issue going on. Are there any additional logs I can check?
