App lacks tool calling for "bring your own model" tool-calling support

The application lacks tool-calling capability for tool-calling enabled open source models like mistral-nemo and llama3.2

Hi @deepyes02 For playground, generally, AITK currently doesn't support tool calling (MCP, function calling, etc.) for any models. Only support web search for specific models (Gemini)

If you want to try tool calling you can try in Agent Builder. It has support for MCP and function calling.

We have added the feature request to support tool calling in playground to our backlog
