Would like to make a translation for this book

Open artiga033 opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

The book is awesome and very helpful for me, thus I would like to translate it to my native tongue (Chinese).

I wonder if you are willing to add multi-lang support for this repo, or shall I make a fork under myself like most of the other mdbook docs do? (I think they do this mostly because mdbook does not have a good support on i18n)

I've never used mdbook and is not familiar with it's multi-language function. Thank you again for this book.

Would be awesome to see a Chinese translation and thanks for the initiative. I'm sure it'll go out to help a ton of folk. I think the best would be to start it out as a fork. Since I don't know Chinese, I think we'll need someone from the @microsoft org (because this repo lives under it) who does and who can take your work under their supervision.

https://github.com/google/mdbook-i18n-helpers is really helpful for that!

Hi, I'm translating the book to Spanish, we don't have enough defined the correct way to translate the book, I prefer in my case use files MD. We did a little fork of MDBook just adding the possibility to make the book multilanguage: It's not finished yet, but it's near to the 70% I guess. https://github.com/RustLangES/rust-para-dotnet-devs https://www.rustlang-es.org/rust-para-dotnet-devs/

If we define a way to translate the book and in case that the maintainers want this, I can do a PR. Google is using PO files to translate their book.
