Need some reorg on the way cards show up on markdown pages

I'm having trouble doing what I need to do because of a couple of issues with the way these cards work:

1. Words don't wrap cleanly
2. Also can't wrap intentionally (\n doesn't work)
3. Any . ends the description
4. Similarly, it adds . to the end of any description, even if it already ends with a ! or ?
