Vm very slow after running perfview

Open sabbadino opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

Well, that's a weird one .. i run for about 10 minutes perfview with most options ticked.. i stopped the collect .. and the perfview started to dump the data collected. That was taking very long .. after a few minutes the VM performances started to decrease .. the web site hosted in the VM was not responding.. i cancelled the dump .. restarted the iis apppool.. but the VM was not performing as before .. we did two VM reboot .. still it is performing worst (high CPU usage) than the companion VM on the same web farm . ..same code deployed .. What should I check ? It seems that perfview left something that is persistently slowing down the VM

@sabbadino, can you please share the PerfView log? It is located at %temp%\PerfView\PerfViewLogFile.*.txt. The most recent one is called PerfViewLogFile.txt. If the files are gone or too old, if you have the etl.zip file, you can unzip it, and the log file will be in the root of the extracted directory.
