Feature Request: Horizontal scrolling on Call Tree view
Often I come across CPU stacks which do not fit on my laptop monitor making it hard to read full name on the Call Tree. Please implement horizontal scrolling ability or word-wrap text.
I had a draft implementation of that feature in the scope of #300, but it was not accepted back then (for good reasons - I need to clean it up). I still use it personally, though. I can push my local changes to my fork so you can evaluate how it works if you're interested. And then @brianrob can tell if this is something he'd like to take as a PR.
@brianrob Does it make sense to invest time to this implementation or the WPF version is not that popular and the JS-based one might become more trending soon?
@ilabutin, the WPF version will remain and is worth investing in. We would like to have a JS-based solution at some point, but it's not clear when that will happen.
@brianrob Thanks for the information. I will then try to make those changes for horizontal scrolling of the grid cells in the form that is suitable for the PR.
Awesome. Thanks @ilabutin!
Reviving and old case here - but just want to add that with the advent of "async everything" this has become a very real issue.
Sometimes the call stacks are so deep because of async continuations that you don't really see any valuable content in the main call tree view anymore. The only solution we have right now is to use ultra wide screen monitors :)
Optional wrapping of lines or horizontal scrolling is desperately needed.
