Feature Request: Two way syncing of participants/members between Moodle and Microsoft Teams

From what I understand when you connect a MS Team to a Moodle course the syncing for students/teachers to members/owners is one way from Moodle to a connected team.

Rather than the Moodle course being the single point of truth, would it be possible to do the following:

  1. Have any changes in membership in either the Moodle course or the connected team merged together.
  2. Have any pre-existing members of a connected team merged into the Moodle course's participants.
  3. Manage membership of the team in both Moodle and MS Teams.

For instance my school has a number of pre-existing teams with their own members and would like to be able to merge them with the participants of a connected Moodle course and also be able manage the membership from with in both Teams and Moodle so that they sync between the two.

Hi @ross-lovell,

I understand where your request comes from, and I acknowledge that the current teams integration feature misses this functionality.

FYI, the updated School Data Sync integration feature included in the latest release (3.9.8, 3.10.5 and 3.11.2) actually has this feature in the SDS sync section, but it only applies to courses created from SDS. It will be up to the Microsoft Education team (@audrieMSFT) to decide whether to port this feature to the teams integration feature.

Regards, Lai

Hi @weilai-irl Thank you for passing this along. Currently my school don't use School Data Sync and it would be quite complicated for us to setup as we already having some level of syncing going on from various other places (RM Unify being one of them). It is something we could look into though, but the Teams integration would be more convenient for my school at present.
