Handling In-Text Citations in GraphRAG for Scholarly Article Summarization

I am solving how to find references (citations to authors, sources) to summarizations within QA, which GraphRag refers to in answers to queries, after sentences in the text, e.g. [Data: Reports (21, 22, 23, 24, 25)]. My text that I am analyzing is a scholarly article with numerous in-text citations, i.e., no numerical in-text citations, and also no references after the text, as is common. I did not want to overload the model in the testing frame. What is your experience with this, including the authors? Thank you in advance!
