RFC: Font change from Segoe UI to Segoe Sans

This RFC is discussing the exploration of using Segoe Sans instead of Segoe UI and the impact it would have on our components.

The current font Segoe UI, a static font, denies designers of the flexibility they can get with a variable font. In addition, the baseline of Segoe UI is not true center, which requires adjustments in components on a case-by-case basis, which is time consuming.

We followed up with design and it actually looks like I misunderstood their intention, they just wanted to see the impact of changing the font in v9 to update designs in their Figma and did not intend for any font changes to be made in v9.
