F1 - inline Help: more help and more Keys - less mouse - PLEASE!
I can become a little Help with Options: /? or -? and -h or --help but don't know to use the Mouse to change the Text-Coding and can't easy select or choose the Code-Page without a Mouse!!! I think a Text-Editor should always prefer the Keyboard to make things easy and fast. Why I've to use the mouse for the Status-Buttons and can't select that via Settings- or Edit-Menü?
Where is F1 - Inline Help to use of? Where is F2 - to Rename the Project (FileName) Where is F3 - to search and find Can F4 used to select an-other coding-Page? Where is F5 to have a Reload if the Text-File is Changed from an-other editor or Programm (if it is a log-file). May F9 switch between [CRLF] and [LF] and did that also add a last [LF] at Save or is there an-other switch for?
A Help should talk not only talk about the version. It also should tell us how to use the program itself - like that: (it's from my german ZIM/Tiddler about edit - but I think you'll should see what )
"File" → "Edit" → "View" → "Help" → "File" ... 〔←〕 Wechsel zum linken Menü: Von ... "File" ← "Edit" ← "View" ← "Help" ← "File" ...
File / Datei-Menü: 【⎈】+〔N〕 | …〔N〕 = New : Neue Datei 【⎈】+〔O〕 | …〔O〕 = Open : Datei öffnen / laden 【⎈】+〔S〕 | …〔S〕 = Save : Datei sichern / speichern | ...〔A〕 = Save As : Speichern unter / sichern mit neuem Namen 【⎈】+〔W〕 | …〔C〕 = Close : Dokument schließen 【⎈】+〔Q〕 | …〔X〕 = eXit : Programm verlassen
Edit / Bearbeiten-Menü: 【⎈】+〔Z〕 | ... 〔U〕 Rückgängig machen (Undo) 【⎈】+〔Y〕 | ... 〔R〕 Wiederholen (ReDo) 【⎈】+〔X〕 | ... 〔T〕 Ausschneiden (✀ Cut) 【⎈】+〔C〕 | ... 〔C〕 Kopieren ( Copy ) 【⎈】+〔V〕 | ... 〔P〕 Einfügen ( ⎀ Paste ) 【⎈】+〔F〕 | ... 〔F〕 Suchen/Finden ( Find ) 【⎈】+〔R〕 | ... 〔L〕 Ersetzen ( repLace ) 【⎈】+〔A〕 | ... 〔A〕 Alles markieren ( select All )
View / Ansicht-Menü: | ... 〔S〕 Statusleiste fokusieren ( Status ) 【⎈】+〔P〕 | ... 〔P〕 Dokumentauswahl ( Page ) 【⎈】+〔G〕 | ... 〔G〕 Gehe zu Zeile/Spalte ( Go-to ) 【⎈】+〔Z〕 | ... 〔W〕 autom. Zeilenumbruch für Darstellung ( Wrap )

...uh?
In short: Press Alt+V, then press Enter.
Where is [F1, F2, F3, ...]
This editor doesn't follow historical conventions and so key bindings don't necessarily match other applications. It currently follows VS Code, and I intend to continue doing so.
A Help should talk not only talk about the version. It also should tell us how to use the program itself - like that: [...]
We're unlikely to add an extensive, custom help message. What we do intend to add is a programmatically generated list of supported shortcuts. As a prerequisite for that, follow #332
I do think a certain number of classic F key bindings would be useful
F1 = Help (whatever amount that may be) F5 = refresh document from disk F6 = cycle between menu bara, editor area, and lower option bar/function area F10 = set cursor focus on the menu bar
I know I've seen tickets on the document picker getting changes but a keyboard shortcut to summon that dialog would likely be very useful vs having to open the view menu or get focus on the status bar

Ah, we have Ctrl+P for that.
It's currently documented in the View menu. 😄

Ah that's right! I knew the View menu changes are coming but they didn't make the current 1.1 release
