failure on first connect of feather device

Working from a newly created project, I try to connect to my feather board and get the following error. But the DeviceScript server does start, so the second time I connect is successful.

for future repros: you change your setting to start the devtools in a terminal; then try this again and you should get a better error message in the devicescript terminal page.
