Ensure distinct users are reported correctly in SharePoint Online

Open joshtransient opened this issue 3 years ago • 5 comments

#102 was closed prematurely with no advice, recommendations, or fix action. I have insight into a Clarity installation that was deployed to SharePoint Online, and distinct users is reporting 4000 users on a tenant with 2500 total users and no guests or external users.

Is there a way to make "distinct users" focus on a specific HTTP header or value on the page that reflects a current, signed-in user?

@josh - I am also interested in solving this. Did you find a way?

I did not. Was starting to look at Clarity as a quick replacement for basic WebTrends functionality since that product was making some large changes recently. Have moved on and stopped recommending Clarity for SharePoint installations, mostly due to lack of documentation around how to implement this.

Per the API reference, it seems like this is possible, but am not a JavaScript expert (or amateur, honestly) by any means.
