Logi+ options and Calculator app conflict results in background open

Open djixas opened this issue 2 years ago • 6 comments

Describe the bug

Clicking "calculator" key on a keyboard (K860, as an example) opens calculator app in the background when using Logi+

There are numerous reports about Logi+ conflict where calculator app won't open upfront.

https://www.reddit.com/r/logitech/comments/v8y652/logi_options_mx_keys_calculator_glitch/

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Install Logi+
  2. Press calculator key on a keyboard
  3. It opens app in the background

Expected behavior

It should open app upfront and put focus on it, not in the background.

Device and Application Information

  • OS Build: 10.0.22621 - Windows 11 Pro 22H2
  • Architecture: X64
  • Application Version: Calculator 11.2210.0.0
  • Region: USA
  • Dev Version Installed: False

Additional context

I'm just reporting this problem. I don't want to fix it. Logitech has been contacted multiple times, so maybe this is an issue with Calculator app too.

Also, people say this is Windows 11 shortcut issue too, so I am just reporting in hopes that people can calculate again in a productive manner.

There's a workaround, as quoted by Logitech

Unfortunately, we do not have any information on this at the moment. We have communicated this with the relevant team so that the upcoming updates may have the resolution. We also suggest you to kindly leave your feedback through the Options+ application. But you can try this following workaround.

-Open Logi Options + application -Select your device -Choose your preferred key -Search for action - ''Open Application'' -In open application action - Browse the application (calculator) or add the following path: C:\Windows\System32\calc1.exe (May vary)

For windows 11 users, instead of path use "calc"

Thank you so much for your quick response, I really appreciated it. I followed your steps and it's worked.

The steps above did not work for me. Having "always on top" option for calc would work.
