Assetfiles not published to VS Marketplace

I have a Visual Studio Extension, see https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=nti-de.IncrementVersionOnBuild

I specified my README.md as overview in my publish manifiest vs-publish.json. I have two images referenced in the README.md, but they are not displayed in Visual Studio marketplace.
