After this, I installed 2.5.7 using the 2.5.7 installer( https://github.com/microsoft/WSL/releases/download/2.5.7/wsl.2.5.7.0.x64.msi ), but that did not solve the problem. However, when I tried installing again using the 2.5.9 installer( https://github.com/microsoft/WSL/releases/download/2.5.9/wsl.2.5.9.0.x64.msi ), it started up normally.
same issue here Reinstalling https://github.com/microsoft/WSL/releases/download/2.5.7/wsl.2.5.7.0.x64.msi fixed it: 2.5.9 is buggy(blocker) for me.
