Hi, this is something on our radar already for new feature requests, we appreciate the feedback here!
This is very important to me too We would be happy to receive a response about it
Waiting with eagerness for this one! I have a few apps which require "Switching on the bluetooth" before they will let me use them.
Any progress?
¿Se sabe algo más sobre este tema? Yo también necesito activar bluetooth para poder imprimir desde una app de android a través de WSA. Pero mientras que no pueda... no me sirve para nada mi suface.
This is a pretty critical capability for making WSA viable for more than just tinkering. There are many consumer products from headphones to Dice that utilize mobile apps as the primary or even exclusive means of configuring settings. Many times these devices aren't inherently incompatible with Windows, but the manufacturer has neglected to provide a way to configure them without a mobile device. Windows Subsystem for Android could solve this though, by allowing these apps to be installed on PCs. However, at the moment this is impossible as even when the apps install and run just fine, they don't have access to Bluetooth and are therefore entirely useless.
Hi, Making WSA offers great capability installing APK applications within Windows. However, without Bluetooth access it is useless. As sample, I listen to music through two speakers EVERSE 8. To control sound volume, I use EV Quick smart Mobile application.
- From smartphone no doubt it works perfect
- From windows using Microsoft phone link, it works as well but smartphone must be on side connected and opened
- From windows using WSA, application starts but when searching devices, it says "Bluetooth is turned off for this device."
I fully understand how hard it should be to make all this stuff working on smoothly all together and it may take some time.
Is there an issue referenced ? Who is in charge for analyzing and developing solution ? (Github, Microsof, ...) Is there an expectation date for release ? What is the best way to follow any progress regarding this problem ?
Many Thanks
I bought a Galaxy Watch 6 Classic before realizing I couldn't pair it with iOS like I could my previous Samsung Gear Watches. I was willing to lose all the features of it being paired to my phone and was able to install the Galaxy Wearable's app on Windows 11 but then realized it couldn't access Bluetooth. I can't/don't want to move to a Galaxy Phone but the Galaxy Watch Classic with Rotating Bezel is overall a great looking watch. Sad that everyone seems to be moving away from cross-platform compatibility. Bluetooth for Android Subsytem would be an Amazing step for this project.
WSA is useless without being able to connect it to Bluetooth. A majority of Android apps require some kind of connection with other devices, which is not possible actually and there is not a date to fulfill this tremendous hole.
This feature is generally needed for multiple reasons!!!
Any update on this @nieubank / @timkur ?
Hey this feature would be great to test Bluetooth functionality on Windows. Also for bluetooth headphones companion apps, only available on android/ios (sony: com.sony.songpal.mdr.apk)
Please add this as soon as possible, there's so much people can do with this. I won't bother with many details, but we're seeing a lot of threads wanting to use this for robotics, streaming and other amazing things. Right now, we're all limited by the same thing - we can host the apps but we can't connect the apps to the devices. Please prioritize this for the next update, its so important.
Thanks,
