Video Streaming apps installed on Windows subsystem for Android are showing whitish tone on the videos

Steps to reproduce

Steps:

1. I installed latest apk of newpipe on windows
2. Then I installed that apk using WSA sideloader
3. Then I searched for a YouTube video and started playing it
4. And I started the same YouTube video on browser
5. After comparing both videos I found a whitish tone on the newpipe app

✔️ Expected Behavior

The Color grading on the video should be as shown in the video played on the browser

Is this HDR video? WSA does not support HDR

No this is normal video of 720p quality

Have you tried the NewPipe app on the Android Studio emulator or a physical Android device? Do these symptoms repro in other Android apps in WSA (e.g., play the YouTube video from an Android browser)? Video player apps have more control over this than the platform, so it's not clear this is a WSA bug.

No the symptoms are not showing if I play the same video in Android browser or in physical Android device

This is a known issue that expresses itself to varying degrees based on the hardware decoder used. We've found that on the majority of displays it's not severe so we have not prioritized fixing it in the immediate term.

We are actively working to improve our graphics stack which should address this problem but there's no ETA for that yet.

Having the exact issue on my end with RTX 3080. Video colors are grayed out and whitish. Looking forward to get fix for this, thanks
