Hi, thank you for this feature request. Currently this isn't on our immediate roadmap. Could you please provide specifics about how enabling root access would help in your development efforts?

Hi, the most important and useful use case would be to install Google Services on WSA. unfortunately, it's something that even Microsoft's own apps rely upon, Microsoft Android apps such as OneDrive, Authenticator, Xbox Game pass etc.

currently, the process is tedious involving lots of work and installing Linux subsystem etc. https://github.com/WSA-Community/WSAGAScript https://opengapps.org/

with root access, we can install Open GApps and Google Play easier on WSA.
