Search Indiexing takes up a hell lot of space

Description of the new feature / enhancement

Currently I have Everything (1.5a) and that 5MB software does index all the drives and I dont see it taking up much space while it can search and fetch me files from any drive (incl. my external 1.5TB USB 2.0 Hard Disk) at lightning speed. But the Windows Search is down bad, and command palette isnt helping either. So either make something like Everything (1.5a) with the new command palette or else do an integration w/ the same.

Scenario when this would be used?

For searching any File or Folder across drives.

Yes,I agree with you,this application was so awesome,I use this app with https://github.com/Lin-ycv/EverythingPowerToys for PowerToys Run and it works wery well, I just found a similar plugin from the same developer for command palette,here https://github.com/lin-ycv/EverythingCommandPalette, but that have some bug with Everything1.5a, but it might be solve in next version plugin.

Have you tried using the hotkeys of Everything for "show window" and "toggle window"? I use Win & Esc for toggling the Everything window. It is also a great way to combine it with file open/save or hyperlink dialogs.

The Everything search window can be shown by pressing a hotkey.

Hotkeys can be used anywhere in Windows.

There are three different methods for opening the Everything window with a hotkey:

Method	Description
New window	Always show a new Everything search window.
Show window	Show the Everything search window if one exists, otherwise create a new Everything search window.
Toggle window	Hide the Everything search window if it is currently in the foreground, otherwise show the Everything search window if one exists, otherwise create a new Everything search window.
