[ZoomIt] Adding a button bar similar to the one on Screen Ruler

Open NEKolev opened this issue 11 months ago • 3 comments

Description of the new feature / enhancement

Calling ZoomIt tools only with shortcuts is quite taxing - many variants must be remembered, and there may be confusions with already existing shortcuts (e.g., those by default on Screen Ruler).

It would be much more convenient to have a bar with quick buttons for each activated tool of ZoomIt. The bar should always be in focus.

It should be considered that when both programs ZoomIt and Screen Ruler are activated, they do not overlap and the positions of their bars can be moved.

Scenario when this would be used?

When to use ZoomIt.

Suggestion to allow independent enabling/disabling of shortcuts or the bar. (As opposed to removing shortcuts in favour of the bar.)

The bar is a really nice solution but there will be instances where the presenter doesn't want anything visible/interfering with "the magic" of the presentation. Also, moving a mouse has different mobility requirements than shortcuts, which of course, is why some of us prefer shortcuts. :-)

It can be made to be hidden and when you go to a certain edge of the screen, similar to Remote Desktop when its bar is hidden. But yes, shortcuts are useful, especially if you use it a lot.

Screenity's solution seems perfect to me as an implementation. Ideally, multiple functionalities (and specific sub-functionalities) of PowerToys, if possible, could be added to such a bar, rather than each functionality in a separate one, as is the case now.
