PowerToys Peek support for AutoHotkey scripts

Open akamienski opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Description of the new feature / enhancement

AutoHotkey script are basically a simple text files, that can be opened with any text editors, so it'd ne nice to have *.ahk file support.

Scenario when this would be used?

When many ahk scripts are part of directory, it'd be convinient to see their contetn without opening text editor.

@daverayment Your contribution is welcome and thank you for your work on this. Feel free to open a PR. If you have any further questions don't worry to ask them.

What AHK version will be supported?

But can you please search the older issues. I have in mind that there is at least one same older request (maybe for explorer preview pan). But I can't find it yet. It would be great if we can dedup against the old obe.

(By the way Peek and File Explorer Preview using the same code base. So your changes will be available in both.)

@htcfreek I'm sorry, I can't find the earlier issue; I looked for references to AutoHotKey back to 2020 in Issues. I'll do another search before I raise the PR, and link it here if I find it.

Thanks for the info about File Explorer Preview - I'll remember to search for that in the Issues, too.

To answer your question, AutoHotKey script files are plain text, and all versions will be supported by the update.

This has been implemented as #35538. Originally, that code added support for .csv and .tsv files, too, but that has been postponed after testing.

Thanks for the suggestion and your patience, @akamienski.
