I have this same issue "white bar on screen" which is a persistent non-movable always on top white rectangle (~1cm x 5cm) at eye height on my external monitor which is the primary display screen (two sceens: 1x laptop, 1x external). I do NOT use a KVM.

The white rectangle has been appearing periodically since 8 Feb 2024 and also persists after laptop sleep > resume.

I am running PowerToys v0.78.0 on Windows 10 Pro Version 22H2 19045.4046 with all MSFT mandatory updates applied.

Workaround: Run taskmgr (Task Manager) | then from the Processes (tab) screen, sort by ‘Name’ column. Locate from the Background Processes list (scroll down) called Name (column): PowerToys.Run Process name (column): PowerToys.PowerLauncher.exe and End Task on it. The white rectangle vanishes immediately.

I have the same issue. Same unexpected resolution.

Same issue here. Appearing since early February. Closing powertoys (even in app tray) resolves the issue. Upon reopening the program, no issue again until the computer goes back into sleep mode and wakes up.

This issue is still happening every few days - including with latest PowerToys V0.80.0. I agree it is after Windows 10 sleep mode. See my 15 Feb 2024 comment above for workaround and few more details.

Happens to me several times a week.

I see this too. Very annoying. Hoping that disabling PowerToys Run will prevent this from happening as this stops the PowerToys.PowerLauncher.exe process which seems responsible for this.
