File Explorer settings control alignments is unbalanced

Just open the File Explorer settings

✔️ Expected Behavior

The settings controls alignment to be more "balanced".

❌ Actual Behavior

I believe the image says it all... the right side of the settings controls are visually unbalanced.

I agree it's not the most pretty, but - in rare occasions - Windows 11 Settings has the same thing, so I suppose Microsoft is okay with this. image

It is the design pattern due to the expanders. I think reordering to things with expanders to the top would help.

@crutkas sounds like a fine idea. Would that apply to other areas in the settings too?

Yeah, I think for the File Explorer preview page re-arranging the expanders to be grouped at top make sense as there's no real prioritization or rationale why they are ordered this way anyways.

@Jay-o-Way do you have examples of other areas across settings where something similar happens?

I could only find one other instance in Windows 11 Settings. None in apps (so far). Note that using an expander in the first place is a design choice.

I did notice a really small visual difference between the 2:

The "expand chevron" weight in the windows version (right) seems to be lighter than the PowerToys (left) one!

The significance might seem small, however I believe it does have some impact (even if subconsciously)
