Keyboard Manager: differentiate between keyboards

Open Code-TT opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

Description of the new feature / enhancement

My notebook has a US layout (qwerty), but I live in Germany and have changed the layout to German (qwertz). Because the US layout has fewer keys, I'm missing the < key, for example, which is why I used Powertoys to move the missing key to the Caps Look key.

At home I work in front of a big screen with an extra keyboard (with german layout). Unfortunately, the remapped keys are also valid for the extra keyboard, which is undesirable and annoying. It would be nice if the key mappings could only be applied to one keyboard (in this case the internal one).

This would also have the advantage that various NumKeyPads connected via USB could also be set up as streaming decks or as shortcut pads for Photoshop, After Effects etc.

Scenario when this would be used?

Remapping keyboards between different languages, Num Pads as streaming deck, Num Pads as Shortcut-Pad for Photoshop, After Effects and other software
