Area(s) with issue?

PowerToys Run

Steps to reproduce

Open any PT module (specifically, problem was encountered with Screen Ruler and Settings), then open PT Run, and try to type something - letters, numbers, Escape, even mouse clicks outside of Run. After that is over, press the Run shortcut again to exit. PowerToys Settings_go84ACLnlO please note that I am pressing random keys, Escape, and LMB over the course of this GIF

edit 1/10/24 23:43 UTC: When opening the settings, also navigate to one of the pages, e.g. PT Run settings.

✔️ Expected Behavior

Whatever we press on the keyboard, is shown in the PT Run window.

❌ Actual Behavior

No reaction.

Other Software

No response

/bugreport, so we can check logs. Are you using the default shortcut or a custom one for activating PowerToys Run? There are some focus gaining issues for some activation shortcuts.

For additional info, after additional testing it seems that the problem is not so much that "PT Run doesn't work" as much as that other modules are still focused as active window after PT Run is activated. Specifically, during sequence

Open PT Settings > Open Run settings > Alt+Space > *button mashing* > nothing

Run doesn't work, but

Open PT Settings > Open Run settings > Alt+Space > LMB on Run window > *button mashing* > success

works
