Peek command line support

Open vemundha opened this issue 2 years ago • 7 comments

Description of the new feature / enhancement

The new peek tool is super NICE! Im looking for any documentation on how to use the tool form the command line. Or from other apps then Windows Explorer. Like x2 explorer (to preview files). I found the exe here C:\Program Files\PowerToys\modules\Peek\PowerToys.Peek.UI.exe. And tested with .\PowerToys.Peek.UI.exe C:\temp\test.pdf => but it don't work hmm..

Scenario when this would be used?

Preview files in x2 and all other apps. Or trigger preview from command line.

Me too! Running PowerToys.Peek.UI.exe with a file as argument looks like it spawns a new process but there is no window.

I want to use Peek as an external viewer in Total Commander.

Also looking for the same, specifically to set it as the default .pdf viewer!

A few people asked me to integrate it with OneCommander file manager. While the command-line option would be OK-ish, please consider a more direct way. Seer Preview has a very easy way to integrate so maybe get inspiration from them.

How does Seer Preview compare to Peek?
