Steps to reproduce
While other functions working well ( mouse, keyboard, clipboard ), file copy is not working as expected.
I have generated logs and there seems some problem in the clipboard socket. ( At first, I can't copy text, but it was fixed after restarting PowerToys ).

I choose one file on device A, press ctrl+c, and I move my mouse to device B, and then I press ctrl+v. The file should be copied to deviceB

Hey @Nova-Noir, thanks for the report. Can you please make sure to add a firewall rule on both PCs and "show the original MWB UI" (both are in the troubleshooting section)? Afterward, you should be able to see the MWB tray icon. Now, when you press CTRL+C to copy some text into the clipboard, you should see it blink with blue on both machines. Copying a file should make it blink yellow. Do you see such behavior?
@yuyoyuppe Thanks for your reply! I have made sure that my firewall rules are set. By observing the tray icon, I can find that it blinks with blue when coping some texts. However, that is not the case when it comes to files, it didn't blink when a file was copied.

Is there any possible way to collect logs to see if a file copy action is handled by MWB? I can't still figure it out :(
Yes, they should be in %localappdata%\Microsoft\PowerToys\MouseWithoutBorders. Can you also try dragging a file from one PC onto the other? It uses a different logic flow, so it might work for you. (Look at your desktop for the directory PowerToys.MouseWithoutBorders with dropped files).

no I don't think dragging a file works. the file I drag will be hold on the top side of my screen when I move my mouse to another device, and the other device won't have any response on my dragging action.

I have also tried disabling the firewall, but it is still not working. Is there any chance that I should enable/disable some windows features or any option?
I don't think so, just make sure that the file you're trying to send is <100MB (you can start with something really small - a few KBs first just to make sure). Also, please try experimenting with "Use Service"/"Run as administrator".
I think we'll need to add more extensive logging.
Yes, the file I test is a newly created Helloworld.txt. I'm always using Use Service and Run as administrator. Maybe I should revoke these perm and try again.

maybe we should more logs in the later version to have a deep investigation! Thanks for your effort on making such a great program anyway! It helps me a lot even without copying files.

No, there's something different. When I uninstall it from service, I found it blinks on both devices when I copy files. But the copy action can't be done as well.
@yuyoyuppe Hey there, I have solved this problem after I uninstalling the service and then generating new key for the two devices to connect. Everything works well then, but when the service is being used, file copy went wrong again. And I have to uninstall the service and regenerate new key and then reconnect.
I hope this can help you and again, thank you guys for making such great tool.
Now, if you wish, I can close this issue. Or should we wait for the details and fixes?

Sorry for the delayed response. Yes. I would blame it as a system error.
Everything works perfect on my new computer, yet my old computer just simply doesn't work in service mode.
I think we could close this issue.
