Peek should peek the target of a shortcut
Description of the new feature / enhancement
Right now Peek just shows you details of the shortcut file; might be more useful to peek the target of the shortcut, or provide a button in the UI to quickly jump to the target.
Scenario when this would be used?
- Peek a file such as an image.
- Create a shortcut to that image.
- Peek the shortcut.
It would be useful to be able to see the Peek for the shortcut target easily when peeking a shortcut.
Supporting information
I got nothing.
Maybe this could be operational with a setting to enable it. I personally think the preview should show the file that is selected and not the shortcut target.
When do you have a shortcut of a picture? /needinfo

I too would really like a way to preview the shortcut's target, not the LNK file itself. It can be convenient to see the LNK's details, but I'm doubtful that seeing that over the target is what most people want.
What I propose is:
- A global option to always show the target of a shortcut.
- When enabled, and when previewing a LNK, some indication that the preview has followed a link.
- If the above is disabled, then a button in Peek's titlebar to "→ Peek Target" or similar.
Alternatively, a toggle flow:
- A global option to always show the target of a shortcut.
- If the above is disabled, then a button in Peek's titlebar to "→ Peek Target" or similar.
- When viewing the target, the button now reads "← Peek Link" or similar.
The second variation is probably the better implementation of the two.
