Change Quick Accent activation key

Open ktowen opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

Description of the new feature / enhancement

Quick Accent should allow to change the activation key to others like Control, Shift or alt

Scenario when this would be used?

Sometimes when typing a lot of text or too fast it skips some spaces or the popup get stuck for some time and when it closes it adds the letter or a space out of place

Related to this, I generally think that the Quick Accent shortcut should default should be changed altogether. It took me several days to figure out what was causing this behavior for me when typing because I (subconsciously!) hold down the letter slightly before hitting the space bar. I genuinely think this default is too prone to issues and should be changed to the right-arrow key default.

You can change the activation shortcut in the settings.

You can change the activation shortcut in the settings.

Yes, but it's limited to the space and the arrows. The request is to have other keys as well

So you mean single keys?

Like for example use a+ctrl to show the accent toolbar

Sorry for some reason I mixed up Quick Accent with PowerToys Peek😅. This feature request is of course valid.
