feature request: disable sorting by metadata by default in windows explorer

Open soredake opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

Description of the new feature / enhancement

By default windows explorer detects if folder has many audio/video/images and sorts them by metadata, which is can be extremely slow on hdd (20-30 seconds in folder with 30 videos), medium slow on ssd and slow on nvme (10 seconds to sort folder with ~2000 images).

Scenario when this would be used?

If you have folder with many images/videos/audios and explorer is sorting files very slow you'll appreciate this option.

Supporting information

You can manually switch to non-metadata sorting but this is process is long and you need to do this for EVERY folder, and there is no way to do this globally, so option for this will be appreciated.
