Hello and thanks for your message. This is by design. Fancy Zones is activated when a window is being dragged.

Interesting... Thanks... Do you know if this was a recent design change? I'll need to rewire my brain... Ha

I'm so used to moving my mouse and THEN when I'm in the right location, hitting the right mouse button to start the snapping.

Can't remember this has changed.

I'm so used to moving my mouse and THEN when I'm in the right location, hitting the right mouse button

That should indeed work, when/because there is a window being dragged.

It was a recent design change: https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys/issues/24326.

I agree... Having to now move after clicking the right mouse button is more annoying & breaks the muscle memory built up from using pre-0.67.1 versions. An option to choose either method would be a nice addition.

This is breaking my head as well. I am used to dragging the window and then quickly tapping the right mouse button to activate zones and then releasing my drag to drop the window. Subtle design change, but it is killing my muscle memory and adds an extra step. We definitely need a setting for this. I am considering downgrading until this is resolved, because the new behaviour is so jarring. PS. Thank you for such an awesome tool! We stop to complain so often, but forget to compliment. This tool revolutionized my multi-screen desktop management!
