Thank you for the answer. Can you please provide also a /bugreport and a screenshot of that weird sizing to help me investigate it?
Hi there!
We need a bit more information to really debug this issue. Can you add a "Report Bug" zip file here? You right click on our system tray icon and just go to report bug. Then drag the zipfile from your desktop onto the GitHub comment box in this issue. Thanks!

I switched to permanent admin mode in the mean time, and I think that helped, but not remove the issue completely.

I have this issue as well. It occurs on Edge browser and Chrome browser, and I don't think its specific to PowerToys FancyZones, as I see the same problem with Windows Snap. It has been there since Windows 10 (1903 perhaps?), still exists in Windows 11. I don't know why its only certain apps (specifically browsers) that it happens with. Here is a screenshot, note the window which was snapped to the right half of the screen is now offset up and to the left.
It would be wonderful if PowerToys could fix the issue. I have even seen it occur with third party tools like WinDock https://www.ivanyu.ca/windock/. I feel like its a specific issue with these type of windowed apps, perhaps the ones with rounded corners.
attached please find my bug report zip as well. PowerToysReport_2023-02-24-12-30-20.zip
Unfortunately, I don't see this corrected as of v0.68.0. The recreation steps are simply to use FancyZones to put an Edge browser window on the left and right halves of the screen (they are snapped properly). Then reboot the computer and relaunch Edge. It will reopen the two windows, but they are offset from the snap, such that there is a gap around the windows.
I have highlighted the gaps with red boxes in the screenshot attached.
I may be experiencing this behavior as well. It appears that every time Windows starts up, the application windows open near their FancyZones locations, but FancyZones is loading the "Priority Grid" template instead of my custom layout and not snapping any windows to the zones.
PowerToys v0.68.0 Windows 11, version 22H2 If more info is needed for this to be helpful, let me know what to provide.
edit: I'm probably experiencing the behavior described in #24024
This was resolved with 0.68 build of PowerToys with PR #24290!
