I have the same problem. My windows dragged to fancyzones are not getting pinned. If I close and open again they lose the configuration. PowerToysReport_2023-02-11-17-38-24.zip

Guys,

Version 0.68 came out 2 days ago along with the latest windows update and it looks like the problem has reoccurred, did anyone else notice? PowerToysReport_2023-03-03-20-13-22.zip

My windows are random, for example notepad doesn't fix no matter how much I change it. I went back to test until version 0.65 and the problem persists.

Hello,

I confirm that after installing the version 0.68 it worked fine for one day. But after windows update 2023-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5022913) it stopped working again.

I temporarily fixed the problem. Control panel > Programs > View Installed Updates > Uninstall the latest update. It works again, so yes, there are still conflicts with the latest version of win.

I believe I may have discovered what's happening here. One of the recent PowerToys updates seems to have added or reset (I don't remember if it was there before) the "Default layout for horizontal/vertical monitor orientation" options. When PowerToys/FancyZones starts, whatever you have set to the Defaults will be applied. Unfortunately, the update didn't automatically select the layout I was using to be the default.

You can change this setting by

  1. opening FancyZones
  2. selecting edit on the layout you want to be applied any time you reboot
  3. scrolling down to find the "Default" options

Also unfortunately, it seems these defaults cannot be chosen per monitor; they're universal.

As a side note, regarding the scroll bars: if you hover your cursor close to them, they'll pop out and be much easier to grab.
