Powertoys not opening Settings from tray icon

Steps to reproduce

Open the system tray area and righ-click on Powertoys icon. Select Settings

✔️ Expected Behavior

Expect settings window

❌ Actual Behavior

Wait cursor (circle) appears for about 4 seconds then disappears.

I note that the sme thing happens if I try to open Settings from (eg) Power Rename. I have closed and restartd Powertoys without any change of behaviour.

I uninstalled and reinstalled and that seems to have fixed it for the time being. I know it's not a solution, really, but it's a temporary fix if you'd like to try it.

Thanks you @gitscosh . That did indeed resolve the issue. Incidentally, I had found that after the auto-update Powertoys Run was also unresponsive.

As you say, a temprary workaround, but I guess it is pointing to a problem with the auto-update installer.

Guess some installer hiccups here. This might be caused by some older files not being uninstalled correctly. This is what we usuall recommend: 1 - Uninstall PowerToys. 2 - See if the PowerToys install directory (default: C:\Program Files\PowerToys) is still there. If it is, delete it manually. 3 - Install PowerToys.

Would be interesting to check which files might've been causing this, but right now there wont' be a bug report that might provide an hint.

The problem has not recurred with later updates. Happy to have this closed.
