@aaron-juncker No idea :(.. @crutkas have you seen this before? WinUI issue?

niels9001 avatar Nov 11 '22 16:11 niels9001

Yes we have seen this before. Would have to search for the issue(s). (On my phone now). Form top of my head it could be hardware/driver related ..

I'm betting other WinUI apps would be affected inside PowerToys like PowerRename. My gut says this is external to PowerToys itself. The app itself is basic as basic can be in terms of being clever on rendering.

reaching out to some friends internally

@Ronzaigu does this happen with PowerRename or locksmith?

If im not wrong, only the settings app is acting like that, and, weirdly enough, i realized that vscode is also acting like that too

Ronzaigu avatar Nov 11 '22 20:11 Ronzaigu

if VS Code is doing it, then something is acting up on your system outside powertoys

What should i do ? Because its only on powertoys and vscode

Somebody from the core/triage teams (that would include me) would search for previous issue(s) and hopefully there is - at least - a cause mentioned. Not sure if I have time to do that today, maybe tomorrow.

This looks like Nvidia Image Sharpening or something similar.

Now that you say that, its been a while since i'v checked my nvidia drivers, i will check after. I will reply if it was those deivers

Ronzaigu avatar Nov 12 '22 14:11 Ronzaigu

ok it's not nvidia drivers, i'm with the latest drivers and there is still ths bug

Ronzaigu avatar Nov 12 '22 15:11 Ronzaigu

Update, if anyone has google drive installed, the small pop up when you plug a usb is also making this strange effect.

Ronzaigu avatar Nov 14 '22 13:11 Ronzaigu

Try a clean reinstallation of Nvidia drivers by uninstalling your current one first before installing the latest.

Something is causing the rendering glitches that is outside PowerToys. We don't do any time of injecting like that and this is affecting apps of all different types (PowerToys settings is WinUI, VS Code is not)
