PowerToys Run - Search across multiple tabs within the same browser window

Open Philogicatician opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Description of the new feature / enhancement

When typing in search string into PowerToys Run, it will return webpage titles that are not just the active tab.

Scenario when this would be used?

This would be useful to any users that use multiple tabs within their browser windows.

Supporting information

On Windows 10, I've checked that PowerToys Run only finds the active tab (ie, most recently clicked tab that is visible to the user) on each separate browser window (Brave, FireFox, and MS Edge).

Great idea, looks like a duplicate of #19395.

Mostly agreed but the OP ruskiru seemed to be only interested in the Microsoft Edge use case. This is about making that feature available across major browsers like RavenMacDaddy mentions later on in that issue. RavenMacDaddy mentions Edge, FireFox, and Chrome, but I'd include Brave as well (although it's built on Chromium so whatever solution works for Chrome will likely solve the Brave case as well).
