Steps to reproduce
Frankly I don't know if I''m activating it correctly. I press on the space left and right arrows to activate and nothing happens. Iplayed around with the different options to activate and nothing.
I wonder if this utility is configured for the US keyboard which doesn't have accents. I use the Canada-French multilingual keyboard. That's the only explanation I can come up with.

The accented letter for a, i etc should pop up.

- Press-and-hold a letter that can have a diacritic mark, like a vowel
- follow by pressing ←, → or Space (according to setting)
I tried. It. I configured it with the 2 arrow keys and space. And nothing happens. I wonder if quick accent only works with Windows in English with a English language keyboard. My window and keyboard are Canada French multilingual keyboard.
Could be that the pop-up is simply out of your display. It's a known issue. See #20316 (and linked issues)

We need a bit more information to really debug this issue. Can you add a "Report Bug" zip file here? You right click on our system tray icon and just go to report bug. Then drag the zipfile from your desktop onto the GitHub comment box in this issue. Thanks!

I have the same issue with a Swiss/French keyboard. I press (and hold) 'a' (or 'e' etc) while pressing space, left-arrow, and/or right-arrow in any combination. I only get a single 'a' (or 'e') and the space/arrows are interpreted as space/arrows.
Thanks. It works now. It takes some getting used to getting it to work but with practice I'll get he hang of it.
Same thing here. I'm not aware of having installed any updates or doing anything differently - but today it's working!
Same issue here. Accent toolbar doesn't show when long pressing a character (e.g. a). Instead it's typing multiple characters of the pressed one. Tried a restart. Please reopen this issue.

@weitzhandler long-press is not an activation method for Quick Accent. It's hold-down-letter, then press left/right/space
