[Run] Global sort order score modifier seems to have no effect

Steps to reproduce

As far as i can tell:

• Have both Shell and Program enabled
• Enable "Include in global result" for both
• Set the "Global sort order score modifier" to 0 or above for Program, and lower for Shell,
• Search for any application

✔️ Expected Behavior

The Program should be the top result, especially if there's a full exact match.

❌ Actual Behavior

Shell is always the top result, even with extreme sort score modifiers

In fact, this seems to be an issue across the board, with the sort score modifier not affecting the sorting much at all. This is just the best or most clear example I could find. I suspect an underlying issue affecting the ordering as a whole and not just these specific Plugins.

I'm trying to keep "Windows Search" result at top of "Windows Settings" result. Even increasing the sort weight of search to 1000 and settings to -1000 doesn't work.

In my opinion, the order seems to have some formula for calculating the speed and weight of the query. On my pc there is a specific value that determines the order. You will have to find the desired value by adjusting the values with each other.

I've had to turn off "Settings" as a Run option because even at the max -1000 sort order and "Programs" at 1000, "Settings" options always take priority. Even at 0/0 I'd hope that Programs was higher, tbh- as far as i can tell, Sort Order settings do absolutely nothing. Please fix. :)

PowerToys Run is the single reason that I keep PowerToys installed at all and the fact that Results Order Tuning seems to have absolutely no effect whatsoever continues to be a massive disappointment. Every release update I check the release notes in the hope that something has finally been done about this but the issue is always ignored. Please can someone look at fixing this?

same problem, its sad it hasn't been fixed for 2 years. Honestly it's kinda annoying as the whole point of having a quick launcher is to be quick: pressing enter straight with minimal input.
