[PT Run] Be able to exclude certain programs from PowerToys Run showing
📝 Provide a description of the new feature
What is the expected behavior of the proposed feature? What is the scenario this would be used?
With default settings, the key combination Alt + Space is used to open PowerToys Run; but is possible that other programs uses that same shortcut for different applications, or other scenarios that you don't want to open PowerToys Run, even if the key combination is pressed.
For example in my case: in "PaintTool Sai" that key combination Alt + Space makes it possible to rotate the canvas, but when I press those keys, PowerToys Run opens instead.
The idea is somewhat the same that what have the Keyboard Manager right now: the remap can be executed only in certain programs. But this time, PowerToys Run can run except on certain programs.

You can change the shortcut for PT Run in our settings app.
For opening settings please open PT's tray icon menu and select Settings
.
Yeah, I know that you can change the shortcut for PT Run.
But just for convenience, if another program uses other shortcut that I set to PT run, or another program where I don't want PT Run to open (like a fullscreen video player or a presentation, just in case), I think it would be useful to be able to exclude the program in the settings.
same would chances are be needed with KBM via #8809
The ironic thing about this is that you made this issue, but I haven't seen any progress with this and they'll close every other issue that references something like this. This is over a year old at this point, and it doesn't make sense to close others that are similar to this so people could stay up to date on something like this lol.
This feature is straight forward and makes sense, however we are a small team and are currently prioritizing work on other things from our roadmap. If a community wants to pick this up, we are happy to accept it.
When we compare this to other features, the comments, cross reference (duplicates) and reaction count isn’t as high as other features.
Yeah I understand. If I knew how to code, I'd do it, but I have no idea how to. Just from my standpoint, I saw it as a little infuriating to people like myself. I do see your point now and I apologize if my previous comment sounded mean.
Would be nice to be able to exclude PowerToys Run within certain applications, e.g. Windows Terminal.
