Are there any news to this? Or maybe another way to open a numpad keyboard on HL2?

Wondering, too. But given that this issue is almost a year old with no actual response I don't have any hope

I've been testing with the Touchscreenkeyboard in 2019.4 but there it was not possible to open a different keyboard than the default one. I'm wondering if there is any progress from unity side in 2020

@MaxWang-MS Is this something you've explored in your keyboard investigations?

I think this is a Unity bug/feature request as the TouchcreenKeyboard is a Unity API. If you are impacted I strongly recommend filing a bug report with Unity as that they are aware of the issue and hopefully address it. Please post a public Issue Tracker link here after you hear back from Unity so that we can better track it.

Hi @derekfreed, I have not heard any update on this issue and am not sure if a bug/feature request has been filed with Unity. Please go ahead and file a request directly with Unity if you are interested in this.

Out of curiosity, which https://docs.unity3d.com/ScriptReference/TouchScreenKeyboardType.html types have you tried? I'll go dig up the mapping I made a while back, but there should be several types supported.

We appreciate your feedback and thank you for reporting this issue.

Microsoft Mixed Reality Toolkit version 2 (MRTK2) is currently in limited support. This means that Microsoft is only fixing high priority security issues. Unfortunately, this issue does not meet the necessary priority and will be closed. If you strongly feel that this issue deserves more attention, please open a new issue and explain why it is important.

Microsoft recommends that all new HoloLens 2 Unity applications use MRTK3 instead of MRTK2.

Please note that MRTK3 was released in August 2023. It features an all-new architecture for developing rich mixed reality experiences and has a minimum requirement of Unity 2021.3 LTS. For more information about MRTK3, please visit https://www.mixedrealitytoolkit.org.

Thank you for your continued support of the Mixed Reality Toolkit!
