Two hololens2 to connect to two applications of a computer through the holographic remoting player, the connection failed!
We use two hololens2 to connect to two applications of a computer through the holographic remoting player. However, one hololens2 connection fails. How can we use multiple hololens2 to connect multiple applications of a computer.
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- One hololens2 to connect to applications of a computer through the holographic remoting player, is OK。
- Another ololens2 to connect to another applications of a computer through the holographic remoting player, is ERR。
My setup
- Unity Version 2020.3.30f1
- MRTK Version v2.7
Target platform
-
HoloLens 2
-
OpenXR
-
win10
@ccrop I'd like to clarify the scenario to make sure I understand your question:
- Could you clarify the version of "Mixed Reality OpenXR plugin" package version in your Unity project and the "Holographic Remoting Player" version on your HL2? Do you have custome remoting player on HL2? or using the one from Store?
- Do you mean you have 1 PC computer running 2 unity applications, each want to connect to a HL2 device using holographic remoting?
- Can you clarify how do you initiate the remoting connection? Do you use "Connect" function or "Listen" function? which port were you using for the remoting connection?
@yl-msft Thank you very much for your attention. This problem has troubled us for a long time, thank you!
- the custome "Holographic Remoting Player" version on my HL2 is 2.8.1 and "Listen" in 8265(holographic-remoting-player). 2.the Unity version 2020.3.30 OpenXR version 1.3.1 remoting HL2. 3.Yes,have 1 PC computer running 2 unity applications, each want to connect to a HL2 device using holographic remoting.
@yl-msft , update on this one?
@yl-msft @Zee2 Wait for an update? or are there other ways.
We appreciate your feedback and thank you for reporting this issue.
Microsoft Mixed Reality Toolkit version 2 (MRTK2) is currently in limited support. This means that Microsoft is only fixing high priority security issues. Unfortunately, this issue does not meet the necessary priority and will be closed. If you strongly feel that this issue deserves more attention, please open a new issue and explain why it is important.
Microsoft recommends that all new HoloLens 2 Unity applications use MRTK3 instead of MRTK2.
Please note that MRTK3 was released in August 2023. It features an all-new architecture for developing rich mixed reality experiences and has a minimum requirement of Unity 2021.3 LTS. For more information about MRTK3, please visit https://www.mixedrealitytoolkit.org.
Thank you for your continued support of the Mixed Reality Toolkit!
