This problem occurred in my environment, but I was able to solve it, so I will write it as an example.

  • Environment where the problem is reproduced

  • Microsoft Azure VM (VM Size=Standard D2s v3)

    • 2vCPUs, 8GiB Memory
    • Windows 10 Professional 21H2
    • The CPU usage reached 100%, and even in the logs it seemed that the process was stopped in the middle.
  • Environment where the problem was not reproduced

  • Microsoft Azure VM (VM Size=Standard D4s v3)

    • 4vCPUs, 16GiB Memory
    • Windows 10 Professional 21H2
    • The CPU usage rate reached 100% momentarily, but the catalog refresh process was completed successfully.

We appreciate your feedback and thank you for reporting this issue.

Microsoft Mixed Reality Toolkit version 2 (MRTK2) is currently in limited support. This means that Microsoft is only fixing high priority security issues. Unfortunately, this issue does not meet the necessary priority and will be closed. Microsoft recommends that all new HoloLens 2 Unity applications use MRTK3 instead of MRTK2.

Please note that MRTK3 was released in August 2023. It features an all new architecture for developing rich mixed reality experiences and has a minimum requirement of Unity 2021.3 LTS. For more information about MRTK3, please visithttps://www.mixedrealitytoolkit.org.

Thank you for your continued support of the Mixed Reality Toolkit!

All the Microsoft Learning still reference the old MRTK2. It might be worthwhile having this updated.
