Hello,
Apologies for the delay in response. Hope you are doing well.
Our engineering team has confirmed that the website needs to be fixed. The area path is incorrect, which is causing a 403 error, and it also needs to be associated with a deliverable for proper tracking.
Additionally, https://www.ecosia.org/ is not reachable via the command line—it returns a “Forbidden (403)” response. This likely requires an authentication token or indicates that the site is not publicly accessible. The website team will need to address these issues.

Hello Venkat,
Thank you for your response.
The website is publicly accessible and working normally for users in most regions. However, we've had issues in the past where the website was not accessible from certain regions, such as India, which could also be affecting your validation system depending on where it's running from. Is it possible to inform us the location where the test is running from? Or, maybe, could you please either:
- Manually verify that the URL is valid and publicly accessible, or
- Whitelist your validation system so it can access the site.
Thank you for your assistance.
Best regards, Magali
Hello Venkat,
I wanted to add one more detail that might help diagnose the issue: our website does have protection against automated requests, which is very likely the primary reason your validation system is receiving the 403 error.
Is it possible to use any other verification methods?
Best, Magali
Hello @magalibo,
Thank you for sharing your input regarding the website. I’ve shared it with our engineering team, and once I receive an update, I’ll provide it to you.

Hello @magalibo, the issue is resolved now, could you please check and confirm?
Hello @venkatasai5171, Thank you for the fix! I'm taking over the topic from @magalibo, as she is currently on vacation.
I was able to enter the URL and save changes without errors. I will get back to you with a final confirmation once we successfully release the next version of the extension.
Problem fixed, thank you!
