[Bug - Partner Center] Upload extension logo always fails
Describe the bug When attempting to upload a logo for an extension the placeholder image appears, but nothing else happens. Refreshing the page (as mentioned in this previous issue) takes me back to the list of the extension's listings with a broken image for the logo. Clicking through to the extension's page again shows a "File upload has failed" placeholder. I can remove that and try again but get the same result.
The image meets the stated requirements, it's a 28 kB 300 x 300 png file. I don't get any error messages when initially trying to upload the file.
The same happen using either Firefox or Edge.
Possibly related to #255?
To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Go to https://partner.microsoft.com/en-us/dashboard/microsoftedge/{product_id}/listings
- Click "Edit details" on a listing without a logo image
- Click the "Add image" button and attempt to upload an image
- See placeholder
- Wait a bit
- Refresh or click "Close"
- See broken logo upload
- Click "Edit details" on the extension
- See the file upload failed placeholder
Expected behavior The logo upload succeeds.

Hi @chris-burn-phocas
I am Rahul from the Microsoft Edge Extensions Developer Support team.
Could you please confirm if the issue has been resolved on your end? Our team has implemented a fix, and we’d like to close this ticket if everything is working as expected. If you're still facing any problems, please let us know.
Hi @Rahul-Bauri
I'm still seeing the same behaviour, from both Firefox and Edge. Attempting to upload an invalid image does fail with the appropriate validation error. I also see the same thing when trying to upload a valid screenshot too.
Hi @chris-burn-phocas
Thank you for confirming that you're still experiencing the issue. I've escalated this to the appropriate team, and they’re currently investigating it. I’ll keep you updated as soon as I receive any progress. If I need any additional information from your side to help resolve it more efficiently, I’ll be sure to reach out.
Has it been resolved?
No, I'm still getting the same behaviour. I'm seeing the same thing with a new second extension too.
Hi @chris-burn-phocas
Could you please share the image you're attempting to upload that triggered this error? Having access to the exact image will allow me to reproduce the issue on my end and provide a clearer explanation to the internal team. I am looking forward to your input.
I am facing the same issue. Has this been fixed?
@RR979 The team is aware of the issue and is actively working on it. I’ll update this thread as soon as I receive any updates from them.
Hi @Rahul-Bauri,
I'm facing the exact same issue. If possible, could you please upload our extension logo as well? It’s been quite frustrating not being able to publish the extension. We have stakeholders who are waiting to see it listed on a verified store to build confidence and trust.
Thanks for your help! Regards, Yash
Hi @soniYashSDocs Could you please share your seller ID so I can review the issue in detail? Additionally, kindly provide the logo you are trying to upload so I can check it on my end and work towards resolving the problem.
Hi @Rahul-Bauri, as requested, here are my details for verification: • Seller ID: 88004210 • Extension ID (CRX): eflecijnhlhgdcdiaopkpklobmioalld

@soniYashSDocs Thank you for sharing the images and details. I’ll forward them to the engineering team to help resolve the issue and will provide an update here once I have more information.
Hi @soniYashSDocs I was able to successfully add the logo and the screenshots you provided from my end. For your reference, I’ve attached the screenshots below.
I recommend clearing your browser cache and attempting to upload the images again. Once done, please let me know whether the upload is successful. If the issue persists, kindly share a screenshot of the error message you’re encountering during the upload process. This will help me escalate the matter to our engineering team for further investigation and assist in identifying the root cause to provide a resolution, as the issue appears to be on your end.
Thank you, @Rahul-Bauri! The issue is now resolved, and we’ve successfully published the extension to the Edge Add-ons store.
It turns out the root cause was that our security service was blocking a domain related to Xbox Live. Unfortunately, the Dev Portal of edge store didn’t clearly indicate what was causing the issue earlier.
If anyone else encounters a similar problem, try whitelisting the following domain: https://upload.xboxlive.com
@soniYashSDocs Thanks for the confirmation! Closing this issue.
@soniYashSDocs Thanks for confirming this. I had noticed that domain and suspected it's being blocked for me too, but hadn't had the time to test it.
