@rnmsazure The error suggests a networking issue.

• Please update to the latest version of Storage Explorer and try again.
• Tell us more about your network. Are you experiencing problems from a work network? Do you work behind a proxy server? Do other applications or website function properly?

I am on version 1.40.2 (110) and I also have this issue. I thought it was a firewall issue, but then I used a VM on the same subnet as the storage account and still not able to connect to the file shares.

No proxy server and I can access the storage account in Azure portal just fine.
