Problem

Trying to confirm if a file has a modified date of today vs yesterday

Desired Solution

being able to click on the file in the share and the properties at the bottom update to that properties instead of the file share

Alternatives and Workarounds

Only other way I know of is to right click file and choose properties.

Additional Context

No response

@DentedOne File share explores already have columns for creation time, last modified, and last write time:

If you're not seeing these columns, you can customize or reset visible columns by right-clicking any of the header cells and selecting one of the options.

Does that help in your scenario?

It does help, but it makes the lower square with properties for folders/layout feel.... Weird... Maybe there is a different way to organize it?

The design and layout for the Properties panel has been in place for a very long time, since before 1.0.0. The Properties panel was designed for showing properties of Azure Resource Manager (ARM) resources, such as subscriptions, storage services, and file shares. It was not designed to show the properties of storage objects inside containers, such as files or folders. Redesigning the Properties panel functionality and layout would require considerable time and effort, and we would need to make sure we don't disrupt other users' workflows if we were to do so.

We can keep this item open for feedback from other users.
