Expand Storage Account when searching

Open effadj opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

We have a lot of Storage Accounts and it is fastest to use search to find the account in question so I can get to it's File Shares. It finds the Storage Account just fine but I would like to see the the result be able to expand and see the items under it (Blob Containers, Files Shares, Queues, Tables) just like you can when you browse the Storage Account manually. I know that I can right-click on the result and search from there but it's an unneeded step IMHO.

Is that possible by some setting I missed, or can that usability function be added?

Thank You!

@effadj , as a workaround for now, if you click on the account node, and then close the search (X in the search bar), that node will then be selected once the tree view leaves search.

The behavior is currently intentional. There was an explanation in an old issue https://github.com/microsoft/AzureStorageExplorer/issues/4823 and the workaround. We will consider changing this behavior this time.

Thanks! My department uses the ASE to restore files most of the time and it's the biggest complaint from them by far. Thanks to you, I have a workaround for now. I hope the behaviour is changed as you stated.
